I just watched Carrie Underwood sing alongside Randy Travis. Remember when Aerosmith teamed up with Run-DMC? That worked. Two completely divergent genres, mashed together to form something unheard of.
This was not the case here. It hurt me. It physically hurt me. Randy Travis is a true country music god. Carrie Underwood is pop. Pop and nothing but pop. I don't care if she sings He Stopped Loving Her Today, she will still be pop. There is nothing wrong with that but why she has to butt rape one of the best country songs in recent history, I just don't understand.

awww poor thing. it must really hurt you that randy loves her voice and her version of the song, saying so multiple times to his fans, and the media.

Let me be clear: I do not give a shit if Hank Williams himself returns from the afterlife and declares Rascal Flatts to be his favorite new band. THEY WILL STILL NOT BE COUNTRY.
And neither will Carrie Underwood. Randy Travis is a class act, to the extreme. It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that he endorses her. It's the politically correct thing to do.
That does not make it country. Skid Row said they loved her version of I Remember You too; is that country?
